Immortal Diversion

Awake, twilight’s music;
Too long have you slumbered
Under Erebus’ dome.
The orange sea roars,
Starlight-studded breath
Leaping wave-to-wave.
Leviathans flee,
But what of their oak-hewn quarry?
Undying they descend
Into tempest’s womb,
Moss-trodden vassals
Ossified
By ancient wrath.

Cast dyes then
over battlefield’s moment:
Celadon and cerise
Goldenrod and gamboge
Stitched upon glory-soaked sail.
Sound Murder’s horn, drink Laughter’s end.
Arise, arise:
A new day unfurls.
